Was thinking Alfine 8-speed, hydraulic discs and the option to fit a rack on the back. Can anyone give me any suggestions...please.

Canyons Commuter? You didn't mention anything regarding price so not sure what your limit is.

Oh, yes, looked at that - and it is nice, but I think my weekly shopping trip would exceed the limits of that rack, which looks to me as if it is supported by the rear mudguard.

But, hmmmm, tis a nice-looking bike.

How much? I could go to 2000 euros.

You could fit a different rack - looks like it has the proper mounts.

The joint is still on the chain stay, its just one piece instead of having a separate mudgaurd and pannier rack

I see now, the models with the integrated headlamp dont have proper mounts, while the other ones do.

Pity, I really like the look of that sleek front end.

Shopping spoils everything ๐Ÿ™

In fact, that 'rack' looks to be simply an extended mudguard stay. Don't think it would affect a regular rack.

Do Trek still make the Soho? I've got two and they're fantastic.

Not seen those rack/guard things before. I quite fancy some...

Look sturdy enough (40s in).

Me too! Frickin hate wobbly mudguards! Also have problems with many racks on my commuter due to small rear triangle.
