Was going to use my Chris King headset but it sounds as if this is not good with the forces produced by 130 - 150 forks. Any thoughts??

Yes, retro-fitted one to my CK H/S. Now holds the top of the steerer with a proper split collet, much better than just floating around inside an 'O' ring. I've had none of the problems some people report re- scored alloy steerers (using Rockshox Revelations).

been using Kings grip lock conversion for about a year now on fox 36's - they're great - no more loose headset feeling
ditto the griplock.
I've been running Fox 36s on my Heckler for 2 years with a CK Headset with no dramas at all..
