Hi, trying to find the cause of an annoying noise ( clicking, tinkling)  from my rear mech area, is the cage bent? The bottom jockey wheel looks at a really odd angle! I’m sure it’s not meant to be like this. Cheers

Unless it's distortion in the pic, that looks bent.

What mech is it, looks like GRX maybe? 12sp?

12sp mechs are, in general, all sorts of wierd shapes that don't make sense, the jockeys aren't aligned by design, so I've found it's really hard to know if it's the cause of an issue without swapping for a known good one.

But that's probably just my mechanical ineptitude.

I'd check the hanger is straight to start with, using a proper tool.

Yeah it’s a GRX 12spd. The bottom jockey wheel is completely out of line with the top wheel, surely this can’t be by design?

Having done a bit of research 12spd apparently are meant to look out of line. It shifts fine, I’ll clean it all and just put it back together!

I recently put a 12sp XT rear mech on my bike. It looked bent out of the box, but it shifts beautifully
