Either stand still or pedal like you're Lance Armstrong! Jeez.

Now I feel bad 'cause I found it funny and couldn't help chuckling ๐Ÿ™

Hope no one was seriously hurt.

And was it definitely bees and not wasps? Stripey flying insects all tend to get lumped together, which often isn't very fair on bees.

Is it just me that thought 'pedal faster'?

And spare a thought for the bloke who presumably had to go back for his bike.

Either stand still or pedal

Does standing still work?!?! You would have to be very certain of it working before you try it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Finally I can justify buying an e-bike, or should I say a bee-bike

Happened to me a few years ago in Italy, I was standing on a trail coaching a client on how to ride a rocky drop off, unbeknown to myself I was standing on a wasps nest, it took a couple of seconds to register I was being stung and then I ran like mad, I got stung 23 times and I nearly passed out, and it took ages to get my bike back...

I have been stung a couple of times since and I get massive swelling, so I have to carry some strong antihistamines..

Either stand still or pedal

We were once out on a nightride and most of the group had got a little in front of Mrsstu and myself.
As we rolled down the field towards them they all started running back up the field towards us in a bit of a frantic state.
We just stopped where we were and as everyone ran past getting stung to **** we could see the swarm in our lights.
The swarm completely ignored the pair of us and carried on chasing the lads running back up the field. ๐Ÿ˜†
Turns out the first lad over the gate had dropped his bike right into a nest. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ Had to offer free beers for someone else to retrieve it for him.
Made one of the guys quite ill and he was off work for the rest of the week.

I bet they were wasps. Those guys have the worst fight or flight response I've ever seen. I'd have been running down that hill side like the devil himself was chasing me.

Wasps zoom in to the pheromones released by the first wasp sting, as more wasps sting the the level of pheromone increases and even more wasps become aggressive and sting the original victim.

They had no particular reason to sting you as you weren't the source of the pheromone release.

I have an ever moving dwarf asian bee colony at the house, they have been moved on three times now and always find a place next.to the house.

Nest is very impressive, but when you have a colony of 1000s the hat swarm the house at night when the lights are on they have to go.

Currently they are in the roof space, and there is no way in to get them, every day just now, a few hundred swarm the outside light just before sunrise, which is unnerving getting up for the morning coffee and walking under them.

What you need is a (be)e-bike to make a quick getaway....

I'll get my coat....
