Need new bearings for my easton wheels, codes are 6902 and 6804 for drive / non-driveside.
Looking on t'interweb must codes have a suffix of some sort. simply bearings .co.uk have rubber shielded deep grove 2rs1.
are these codes important? i presume the first 4 digits dictates the size and the suffix is the sealing / quality?

anyone used simply bearings? any good?

I have used them just recently and found the service to be great. Your right that the number reffers to the size and type of bearing where as the aditonal number/letters indicate the sheilding type ie 2 rs is 2 rubber sheilds (one either side)

thanks, that links handy.

so, for 3 x 6804 and 1 x 6902 skf bearings, which will do my front and rear easton wheels, it comes to 66 quid.
i dont mind paying that if its gonna be longer lasting than the (quite frankly rubbish) easton bearings that it came with, but it does seem a lot. does that price seem normal and what kind of life should i expect from them?

Does sound a lot. Local bearing supplier around £5 each though admittedly not skf.

or, for an idea of price check on the RS web. They will be more expensive than BSL I'd have thought.

IME, top end bearings don't last appreciably longer than the cheapos. Certainly not worth the money.
