I think the main pivot bearing needs replacing on the bike, is it a big job, or best done at the local shop ?

I used to have an 07 stumpjumper (now have 08) and had several bearing replacements, I've just replaced them on a giant anthem (fairly similar) and with a few blocks of wood, a hammer and a bit of time it was dead easy to do. The chainstay bearings (near the rear axle) are definately a shop job though.

It is worth prising off the bearing covers every now and then and purging the grease through, should prolong the life of the bearings a bit.
