My frame means I'm stuck with V's at the rear, currently LX with Deore levers. I'd like to upgrade to the BB7 at the front but want some advice about what size rotor to go for. I ride xc and only weigh 60kg so I don't need anything too powerful I just want something that actually works in the wet. Any advice on future upgrades to the rear brake and levers will also be appreciated.
You'll be fine on 160's, but if 180's are available at the same price go for them.
185 up front and 160 at the back is more than enough for a lightweight like you. 🙂
if its purely xc 160 / 160.
doubt you'd need 180 from what you say but no drawback in having it (other than a few gm weight)
I like bigger discs so that I can use 1 finger for braking control.
160s will be fine
