Needed a new bike for getting to college on after selling my giant bowery to a mate... Just popped down to the tip to have a look for a cheapo bike to do the 5 mile trip on and hidden behind a pile of mangled Appolo's i saw a lovely old Pugeot racer... proper retro steel frame, nice (fairly new looking) silver wheels with almost new hutchinson 23C tires on, INDEXED downtube shifter and everything is working...beautiful!

Did so a similar thing a few years ago, drove past a house and noticed there was a racer in skip, so went back, and asked if i could have it. So he just gave it me. Was an old school Raleigh Milk something steel racer. Was a beauty!
I check the tip all the time and find nothing, same for skips. Curse you lucky skip/tip divers!
Round here once it's in the the council tip area you've got no chance.
Best hope is if you see someone taking a bike in before they reach the main gates.
