Anything out there a better deal (not necessarily cheaper) than the Zees on Merlin? 1x10, though I suppose it would be nice to stick a granny on there too (which I can't on the Zee).

fwiw: deore cranks are only around 40grams heavier than xt.

That is interesting. The Zee weigh a ton though, weight isn't the main concern. That said, I've not really heard any stories of Deore failing so maybe I don't need the extra strength.

Ran deore on my dh bike no probs for a long time

They ended up on my comutter but I'd strip the pedal threads

So basically, what we're all saying is that I'd be daft not to buy the Deore, and I should ignore the Raceface? Especially considering I can use the rings off it for my other bike?

Nothing wrong with LX's just cause they are old stock - better than deore's IMO & I have both on different bikes

This might be a daft question - will I get a better chainline running a single ring on a triple chainset than on a double?
