Hi STW massif,

As the better weather approaches I need some lighter clothing and am hoping for something that perhaps doesn't exist.

I'm looking for the baggy, loose fit of DH jerseys (I'm an ex-rugby player - an MTB XXL translates as a rugby L!).

And the cooling and antibacterial/non-smelly-fabric-ness of merino.

Merino tops I've found have been skin tight fit.

Any tips?
Or anything that would meet the same sort of brief, but perhaps not with merino?

Thanks in advance.

Merino tops no good as a summer top layer IMO, snag too easily on branches etc. Great as base layer or under a waterproof.

I think it needs to be near your skin to work properly though.

Might be wrong though

Maybe look for 'lifestyle' type wool t shirts rather than baselayers, baselayers are typically made as a tight fit. Or get some custom made?

My icebreaker stuff gets wet and cold if not held against the skin to keep warm.

Yes they do excist. I have a Bspoke Russell Merino Top by Fishers. Had it over a year now and I wear it 3/4 times a week when out and about on the bike. Its one of the best Merino tops I own.
Sorry cant get link to work
