Previous PSA post highlit cheap Ridgeback framesets (frame, fork and headset) from Bikedock.
Built one up the other week using garage spares into rigid ss.
32:14 ratio ended up at given parts available and poor initial chain tension causing slippage.
Ok, there will be a novelty factor, but I'm struggling to see what more I would actually need given our Weds evening route is not hugely hilly or technical and typically about 1.5hrs duration. It's like being a kid on a bike again - great!
Horses for courses obviously, but only change I would make is get rid of the v's and get some discs for the winter - well, one at the front anyways.
2.3" Spec Enduro Pro on the front run a bit softer than the usual seems to work fine.
Having to stand and work that bit harder also means that I'm getting more of a work out - physically and mentally.
Great thing is that if we do need to carry and walk, it's relatively light and no concern about being covered in muck that needs washed off to ensure operation.
I know none of this is new, but why not share the joy ๐
