Thinking of trying this in a couple of weeks time, starting from Crickhowell, doing the loop clockwise around the Grwyne Fawr reservoir, will be doing it solo. Can anyone tell me what conditions are likely to be like any snow, or a boggy mess, good idea / bad idea ?

A week is a long time in the hills!2 days ago you would have had some snow, now all gone. Yesterday was ice cold and clear - perfect conditions, today it is raining at about 3 degrees (so freezing rain/sleet on top) so horrible. Ask me closer to the day for local report! As far as the tracks go they mostly hold up well on the route with only a few boggy patches. However, if going is soft after rain the grassy climbs are just a drag and most of the descents will be picked out by running water, so unpleasant.
