Hi i cant seem to get my upper pully closer to the 42t cog mines out of the maximum 16mm range, i have unscrewed the screw fully on the b tension but still sitting too far away any ideas

check that you have the correct mech hanger.
my bike has different hangers for sram and shimano.. the shimano one spaces the mech down slightly compared to the sram one..
