I'm planning a weekend in Aviemore for 22nd/23rd May with the intention to ride one day and go [url= http://www.g2outdoor.co.uk/summer-activities/canyoning ]canyoning[/url] the next.
Firstly, does anyone want to come to either? Secondly, I need a route (or guide) for the ride. Heard of some good stuff being the ex-SSWC course, and another route up to Cairngorms and a looonnng descent back down. Bit vague, but its all I know. It might even still be too snowy up there...
would love to Jimmy but am oop north at that point.
the SSWC course is pretty easy to find, and very good.
Inshriach is more of the same and worth a days exploring/sessioning.
many loooooong descents in the area, my favourite being the one off Bynack More to ryvoan.

looking at the webcam pics.. you dont really want to be going much higher than about 600m in that area!!
lots of snow all over the shot.. often much lower than that.
there are lots of great trails there (Larig Ghru from the Rothiemurchus hike and bike down )
soulrider..........you can tell where the snowline will be in 4 weeks time from now ? you truly are the guru of the trails.....................ALL HAIL THE GURU........................
