Just looking to firm up the feel of my bb7s on the road bike.

Is there a cheaper way than Avid FMJs??

Are they any better at stopping cable compression?

I'm a big fan of the Goodrich braided outers for brakes, it's what I use for my BB7's.

I use them with general-issue LBS inners (usually Shimano or Jagwire) and they are fine. You cable routing might go a bit to pot as they are pretty stiff outers, so maybe have some zip-ties handy.

Jagwire ripcords seem to be well reviewed. Come in a few different colours too.

Ooo....those jagwire ripcords look good.

OCB - those goodrigde cables are 6mm do they fit in the bb7 cable adjuster thingy?

centering the rotors in the calipers is the cheaper way to firm them up

gear inner reduces friction, outer reduces compression but can split in time.

There must be metal tubing one can buy to DIY FMJ but I CBA - mine squidge a bit but lock up enough for skids.
