[Closed] avid elixir pad retaining bolt

the bolt has gone missing securing the pads in place, looks like I could get a new one by buying official avid pads but they are £££ and just got a load from superstar so don't want to do that,
seems to me a split pin will do the job to secure the pads, that bolt doesn't have any other purpose as far as I can see?

anyone done this?

Yep, I use split pins, no difference to a bolt in my experience, and no annoying bolt head to round off

Mine fell out so I have stuck an M3 bolt through. Be wary of running it with no bolt for long though, my pads worked loose & ended up almost seizing it solid. Soon remedied but a PITA.
