Any one got avid elixir 7 2012 brakes with the clamp style fitting?
Just got some and they dont seem to fit my bar properly (Easton ea70)
Looked at other pictures on the web and they seem to meet up ok.
I'm I doing summit stupid or have others had this problem?
Tryed it on another bar that I had lying around and found the same results?
clamp squashed a bit?
any pics?
further gratuitous sentence in same questioning style?
][s]People who finish statements with question marks drive you crazy?[/s]
Sorry Stewart, not much help. As Al says put up some pics.
TBF the only sentences he ended with question marks were actually questions?
I have just removed a set today from my Easton EA70 bars from my Canyon Nerve XC.
They certainly seemed to fit fine before removing them, must be as already stated a problem with your clamps.
Do you mean there is a gap between the flat ends of the bar clamps? If so then this is fine/desirable.
Not so, see the last. But it was a cheap shot. Let's move on ...

top right section of this pictures show the brake mounted to the bar.
where the clamp meets the body of the brake it's shaped and fits nicely.
On mine if i get the bottom section to fit the top section doesnt line up and leaves about a 3mm gap.
it's like the clamps too small or the bars too big.
But, i have 2 clamps, both do the same and 2 bars. none seem to fit like what the do in the picture, unless the bar isnt there.
I haven't seen that model in the flesh but perhaps there is a small gap in between the clamp top/bottom and lever which isn't evident in the photo?
Is anyone else thinking - i dont want to ride this bar now if hes been trying to get the gap closed ? Crimped carbon much 😉
