crc have only front ones in at present.
am i right in thinking they will fit front or back?
i.e like they are not front/rear specific.
Yes.
Yes.
Last ones I bought came with both mounts too.
cheers fella's
Great brakes.
I do like to get specific cables for them though; the strands are wound in opposite directions depending on whether front or rear. It does make a palpable difference to brake 'feel'.
A little slow but the price is right,

please provide a link to where you get these cables.

I have them custom made by two bespoke manufacturers; one is in the Northern Hemisphere, the other in the Southern Hemisphere. I am unable to divulge due to copyright and intellectual property agreements in place.

how much must you pay for these cables then, they sound expensive if they are bespoke and you are their only customer.
Do you have to take covert steps to keep the suppliers from knowing about each other, so they don't twig what is happening and join up to sell these cable sets on their own?
Does anyone make 'rifled' hydro brake hoses?
This would allow you to exploit similar principles with hydro brakes (whatever the principles are?).
If they were rifled in different directions you could have the oil 'spin' in opposite directions as you applied the brakes.
My mate was a civil engineer and on one of his early jobs he had to lay some internal sewage pipes that would take the excrement from some toilets out of the building.
These had to be laid at a certain angle, otherwise the cr8p might get stuck in the pipe.
I suggested that if he had the pipes 'rifled' then he could use less of an angle, as the sh1t would be spinning as it went down the pipe, and so would be carried more efficiently.
He didn't go for it though ๐
I like that theory about rifling the sewage pipes!
My only concern would be that as the sewage spun as it went down the pipe then centrifugal forces may come into play; thus forcing heavier (and 'stickier') matter to the outside where it would increase friction between pipe wall and sewage - thus defeating the very intent of the rifling?
^^^ Classic STW thread!!! ๐
i bought from the guys Speshpaul links too. they turned up a bit more quickly than advertised IIRC.
some good blurb on setup here.
If I'm using them on my road bikes with STIs, I can't get away with the MTB versions can I? That ebay link is mega cheap but they only appear to have the MTB ones.
If you've got STIs you may want to stay off the bike until they've cleared up. All that sweaty Lycra can't be good for them.
I just use directional speaker cable.

STIs pull less cable than MTB levers, whichever way the cables are wound. So, no.
Anyone tried a BB7 road on the back of a slot dropout Inbred? I want to go back to cable discs, but the MTB versions don't fit without a lot of faffing. Was thinking I could use a road caliper, with canti levers, if the arm was shorter.
I just use directional speaker cable.
is that because they are shielded and therefore legitimately directional, or not?
BB5/7 Mtb ones don't work with STI levers.
