Went out this evening on the CX bike with my Vittoria mtb shoes (summer shoes really) and by the time I got home my feet were freeeeeeeezing so I need some warmer shoes for using on the CX bike.

I don't want full on winter boots/shoes just some that are not 50% mesh and they must work with SPD's (ie not full on roady shoes) and not look like "special" shoes

What would you recommend?

Cheers

Ken

using sidi dominators at the moment.
nice and comfy, no mesh, and thin leather that dries very quick.
nice with merino socks.

I have a pair of Dominators that I use on my 5 Spot so they have a permanent layer of mud on them.

Might be worth cleaning them and getting some others for using on the MTB

Why not try some overshoes or booties? Pop them over your current shoes and you should stay warmer

Ken, check your facts - they are not full on winter boots, they are a lightweight eVent lined boot.
I have some and they are ideal for your requirements. Light as a summer shoe but decently warm and dry because of the nufoam/eVent construction.
You are probably confusing them with MZ302's.

I find summer shoes with some MTFU lining works well. 🙂

Overshoes would be my solution, and some DeFeet Woolie Boolie socks.

Seal skins, then overshoes. You'll need the thin ones...

MT41 with sealskins - toasty toes, even when it is minus 8 and snow.

Thermal sealskins - problem solved
Or overshoes?
Or duct tape over the mesh bits? ( there's a recession on afterall)

All 3 have worked for me 🙂
