Forest of Dean? There was a post on here promoting it the other day.
There's supposed to be a Coed-y-Brenin enduro in October too.

Probably the best enduro loop out of the rides they do, good course, nice place and you can make a weekend of it and get a ride in at Glentress as well.

Do you mean marathon or enduro ? Those events are marathons. I wish people would get that right, not moaning at you OP, more at event organisers. If it is long and you get timed for the whole event (what used to be called "point to point"), it's a marathon. If you get timed only on the descent stages, it's an enduro.

And thats not an enduro as I understand it - which is timed laps of a course - as many laps as you can in a time limit. Thats motorcycle enduros IIRC

It does from an insurance point of view when organising it although most riders probably couldn't give a stuff and will use the terms interchangeably. Like I did when I put Selkirk Marathon but then enduro later on... ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Technically, an enduro is laps of a course like Enduro 6 or 10 Under the Ben - as many timed laps of a set course as possible within a set amount of time and it's a race with categories and prizes for 1st, 2nd 3rd etc. A marathon is a single loop event in a similar style to a Sportive and (in theory at least) it's not a race as it uses bridleways, you can give spot prizes but not 1st, 2nd, 3rd and riders are not categorised in "Sport", "Expert" etc, it's just everyone in together

I meant from a punter's POV not the organisers

I thought that was enduance raceing?

Enduro Raceing is many things in motorbikes, the big loop/route with special stages (think Paris-Dakar and similar formats). Or short course enduro, which is timed laps of what looks like a very big motorcross track with trialsy obstacles thrown in and you attack it individualy IIRC? Or point to point, hare and hounds etc which are more akin to marathons.

Enduro bikes are basicaly MX bikes these days, endurance raceing is like le'mans but on superbikes.
