I think I'd get bored after a few hours.

i think it's a well-written article and explains why audax events have got popular in the wake of sportive overload

i rode the same event last year, didn't get bored

I read a copy of the Audax UK magazine at my brother's, decided that is was a passtime for a higher class of nutter than I was prepared to put the effort in for.

It's a great route, rode it a few weeks back. Bored? I can struggle with motivation after a while on road, but only really when it's dark and there's no views or the route is dull and I'm flagging. Riding the same loops at a trail centre or same runs at Wendover etc can get dull too if you let it. 'Boredom creeps into the boring mind'.

I quite like the state of mind you can end up in after many hours on the bike. Thinking about it, it's discomfort that chips away at you more. Being outdoors just isn't boring : )
