Don't miss out on the descent from Sty Head if you've never done it before! The majority of the trail between Sprinkling and Sty Head isn't too shabby either.

The other way you mention must be the one that goes down Grains Gill. I've never heard anyone I know talk about riding it - I'll try and find out about it.

Grains is a lot steeper than the BW. Too gnar for me to enjoy, and a lot shorter. Some rate it and will be along soon... Do you want a tech rocky challenge or are you after a longer trip through the hills? You'll still do well to clear the Styhead descent.

Up Grains Gill, right to Styhead Tarn then back down to Stockley bridge is a good loop. The descent down Grains Gill is pretty dull.
