Toying with the idea of selling a bike I've built which I can't really justify having around. I know what it cost me to build earlier in the year but no real idea of the value on the market at the moment.
Should I ask the STW masses or just post an add with a random {even overblown} sale price on?
The problem with "whats it worth" threads is that often end up as an arguement between those that understand second-hand bikes are worth less than new bikes, those who have spent a fair few quid building up/buying a bike and have un-realistic expectations of what the actual re-sale value is and tight-a$$ed chancers who offer silly small amounts of money based on the fact they knew a bloke who knew a bloke who once brought a bike almost thr same (read: nothing like it) from Brick Lane a few years back for £10.
Ask by all means but expect to hear something you won't like, unless of course you have a particularly rare or unusual bike which may hold its value.
i'll give you a tenner for it, whatever it is.
A tenner might not cover it Flatfish but thanks mate!
Brand new Forks - 09 Fox 32 Van R 140mm Brand new SLX crankset double and bash, Second hand bits - the Frame, Juicy 7's, Sram X9 shifters and rear mech, DT Swiss 5.1 on ProII hubs, Panaracer Cinder{think} 2.25s, SLX front mech, Thomson elite post...
So, what do you think? Or would I be better selling all the bits separately?
Most bikes (in my experience) if broken into component parts and sold make more money than bikes sold as a whole.
pileashite
my offer still stands though
