Im specing new tyres for my new bike and it comes with these: Maxxis Highroller 26x2.35 60a Foldable

Are the 60a's the sticky ones, or is there a more stick version ? Ages ago I tried some and they seemed to be made of recylced truck tyres - horrible.

Thanks.

42A (supertacky) is stickier.
40A (slow reazy) is stickiest (but they last about 10 minutes)
70A is less sticky

Super Tacky is a compound with a durometer rating of 42a. This means that it is a very soft compound. It is used exclusively in our downhill and freeride lines. The soft compound allows the rider to have superb surface traction. These tires are used for racing.

I've been using the supertacky 2.35 high rollers for the last few months. They are very, very slow on the flat or climbing. On downs they grip like nothing else, however they are pretty bad in muddy conditions.

Ah, found it. Durometer ratings. I reckon I will go for the 60a then. Compromise stickyness for an all round ride. Ive got winter tyres, just want something for the rest of the year for my Transition Covert.
