Are Clarks brake pads any good?

Your collective wisdom required please.

I have recently fitted some Fleabay 'as new' Clarks React 2 hydro brakes on my bike.

I have been using Hayes cable brakes for donkeys years and found them great apart from having to regularly adjust for pad wear.

I do some trialsy stuff and have been somewhat underwhelmed with the Clarks Hydros power and have landed on my @rse.

Are the supplied pads rubbish? I have tried sanding pads and decontaminating them with meths and blowtorch without success and cleaned disks.

I don't think the brakes need bleeding.

Would new 'off the shelf' Clarks pads be a better bet or Shimano ones as they are same size?

Are the brakes themselves rubbish?

Thanks!

Clarks are the pads you buy when you need pads but cant get anything else in time. See also: Aztec
