Have just got back from morzine, put the bike back together and noticed the brakes are completely gone, lost the fluid from them. Looks like they need bleeding, dont have the kit and have never done it before.
Every bike shop ive been in touch with today to see if they can help, are fully booked up.
Off down yorkshire on thursday evening to do the ard rock weekend. Been in touch with dales bike shop and they are to busy. Ive been told that a sram stall should be there, does anyone have any idea if they would be and do you think i could pay to get them done. ( stupid questions) , if not looks like ill just be spectating all weekend. ๐
I know previous years there was a rock shox stall that would service forks and shocks and also a stall setting tubeless tires up.
Cheers
quite probably
What brakes? I may have a bleed kit and could likely sort them fairly quickly assuming they're not shot which given fluid loss is likely.
When are you riding and what bike/size any silly internal routing etc? I may be able to loan you a pair for the weekend but won't be up there till Friday evening
Just order a kit and have a go. It's not that hard and there's loads of videos to show you how. My kit came next day..

Johnas7 - where do you live?
Sram had the big bus there last year and fixed/serviced my reverb for nothing, was quite a wait mind.
I think I've read Specialized are doing something similar this year.
I reckon if you're there early enough you'll get it sorted.
cheers for the replys, i live in north shields. A lad a know thats a bike mechanic is going down friday so maybeable to help, hoping they arent wrecked, worked fine in the alps, put them in a cardboard box for flight back and looked like the pistons had slightly come out and that the oil had leaked. Forgot to put some calipers bettween the brakes when putting it back in the box.
If the pistons have popped out the seals might be shagged.
I'd be buying some new reasonably priced brakes Zee or Deore and fitting them and sorting the old ones after 'Ardrock.
You'd rather miss out than learn?
Weird, and retarded.
+1 for epic bleed solutions kits, got mine from them for my avid elixirs. plenty of vids on youtube to show you how to do it too, its not too difficult. give it a go. you can also get the epic bleed kits off amazon too
I'd be buying a pair of those shimano deores on crc for 22 quid an end and taking them with me as a just in case, then popping to the sram van when you're there. Could then return if not needed or sell on for 15 quid an end if you did use them for one weekend.
Not the best in the world but they'll survive a couple of days at Ard rock, it's fairly open and nothing steep so you don't need brilliant brakes.
Boost bike co will be there, offering mechanical support. I cant reccomend them enough, they helped me out at THe Southern Enduro champs, and saved my race to be honest.
The sram truck is free from what I can remember.....not sure about what happens when seals/parts are needed though. The wait last year was pretty long and based on priority. Shagged brakes would probably be a higher priority as you cant ride without them, so you might be in luck. Its worth a shot first thing on Fri morning.
