Just finished fitting a FSA Orbit MX headset to my P7 frame. Tightened it all up and it feels great (compared to the unspeakable abomination of a headset supplied with the bike)...but...
Looking at the top of the headset, there is a large (1-2mm) gap between the edge of the top cup and the seal, even though the top cap bolt is tight and there is no play in the bearing.
It doesn't look like it will keep sh*t out - quite the opposite !
Should it look like this ? If not how do I fix it ? How far can I safely
tighten the top cap bolt to try to squeeze it all together - it is already tighter than I would make a cup and cone headset.
Oh, and how do you adjust a headset with cartridge bearings anyway - this is my first :oops:?
