If so, perhaps you can help me with a problem.....
I've got an lower H-Cup 1.5", and the crown race isn't fitting up against the bearing correctly ie there's a even 0.5mm gap between the crown race rubber seal and the bottom of the cup. The bearing is seated correctly in the cup, the cup is inserted correctly/squarely, and the crown race is fitting onto the crown as it should - yet still the gap....
And when I remove the race from the crown and fit it up against the cup/bearing, it's still the same - ie still a 0.5mm gap between the seal and the cup.
I have the same issue, the rubber seal is not a snug fit on mine. I assumed that when I tightened down the headset this would snug the seal up but haven't actually checked i it did or not, not much help but I did notice the same problem you're having.
