Need to get a 22.2mm BMX handlebar into a 25.4 stem (don't ask!) - anyone used a shim to do a similar job?

I use a (supplied) shim on my Jones Loops so they fit a 31.8 stem.

Yes - no problems at all (some Answer cruiser bmx bars into an mtb stem).
BITD there were plenty of mtb bars that were 22.2 with a 25.4 shim.
