Just had a new tarmac road bike and I'm dressing it up with helicopter tape on the usual areas.
I know my Ht I use 2 lizard skin chain stay protecters on it , basically to stop my shoes scratching he'll out of the paint work. Also chain slap.

Wondering what size and wether to get them for my road bike?

I've just wrapped a large sheet of helicopter tape right around the chainstay of my Roubaix. You can only see it when you look right up close.

I originally tried a Lizard Skin chainstay protector that I already had; but it looked awful.

That was exactly what I was thinking. I'll try and do the same I think. Mind you I've had a nitemare today with the stuff. Must of wasted £10 worth getting wrong. This internal cable routing mite look good but it can cause you more work.

I use a strip of Dacron repair cloth from my kitesurfing repair kit, been on the frame for years, wears better than helitape.

I put helicopter tape on the chainstay, down tube and also the back of the seat tube of my Roubaix.

Gently heating the tape with a hair dryer before putting it on makes a big difference.

I thought the internal cable routing made it easier as there are less contact points between the housings and the frame.
