Decided that my five ten flats won’t quite cut it on my gravel bike so dipping toe back into spd.

Anyone tried these? Maybe good entry back into the land of clips....

They look rubbish, like xc shoes from 1998

Ok if you never get off your bike. But slip slidey plastic sole with no tread

Can you slide the cleats back very far? Most modern shoes let you slide them well back for better balance stood up.

Remind me of Northwave shoes from a few years back...at that price they can't be bad bad...

I wouldn't buy shoes I can't try on first.

A good pair of cycling shoes will last years, worth choosing properly and spending money in.

Cut price clothing/shoes almost always crap IME.

I'm a big fan of Aliexpress but wouldn't do so for bike shoes.

Fit is essential. I'd check out Decathlon if you're looking bang for your buck.

I've had a pair of these: https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32961891196.html
for about 3 years (in a more subdued colour). Perfectly serviceable dry weather shoe. Sole is stiff, shoe is well put together and comfortable, clasps and velcro still working fine, fit was bang on. The grip on the sole is hard plastic and fairly slippery on hard surfaces but that's about the only bad thing I can think of.
For the money they're absolutely worth it.
