As per the thread title. I'm pondering one on the front of my FlareMAX - 140/125mm, Peak District - which is currently running a Forekaster / Rock Razor combo, which I really like for a balance of grip and speed, but I have the occasional heart in pants moment when I'd just like a little more outright grip up front, usually when things get unexpectedly wet and a little softer.
I don't want the drag and overkill of an Assegai and there's no 2.4 Minion DHF variant, but on paper, the latest Dissector looks like it might be right on the button. I tried the old version and hated the lurchy transition thanks to the gap before the side knobs bit, but the new Gen 2 one looks to have sorted that. I am somewhat wedded to a Maxxis front, I just like their rubber compounds, and if there were a 2.4 DHF, I'd probably run that. I have tried a DHRII as well and I suppose that could also work
Anyway, any thoughts/experience welcome.Â
I run a rear Dissector at present.
It seems to work well in dry, trailcentre type trails.
Damp, rocks or mud - it seems pretty poor really.
It will be replaced very shortly, and I do not really replace tyres unless they are worn out.
