Thinking of heading out to ride IronCross this autumn as it'll be a fortnight after the 3 Peaks so I should either be in reasonable shape, or horribly broken... Anyone ridden it in previous years?
Tell me more, what is this 'Iron Cross'?
No one?
would take a look through XXCmag.com and get some contacts from there .. I don't think anyone from UK has ventured over to race it ..
I would love to but a long way to go for a short ish event ... I'm heading out for Dirty Kanza 200 this year ๐
I did it a few years back, short write up here : http://bikemagic.com/events/event-features/iron-cross.html
It was a fun and friendly event but it is a long way to go. I happened to be in the US for work at the right time and would do it again that way if I could get a trip timed right. If you want to make a trip of it there are plenty of touristy options around DC and I am sure you could get directed to some other riding.
There have been a few Brits over there, a guy called Ian Briggs who is also a 3 peaks regular has done it several times including the year I was there, and Rob Jebb popped over to win it one year as well.
Thanks for that. It's just a thought at the moment of having 10 days over there and doing something "fun" in the middle. It'll be good for herself too as there's the less painful version which will be something to think about whilst propping me up after Whernside 2 weeks earlier...
Go on the 3peaks x forum a few have ridden it .I think Rob Jebb rode and won it a couple of years ago
