First off A) This isn't a complaint, Wiggle have been good to deal with so far and B) Yeah, more fool me for buying a bike online, I figured there was nothing could go wrong with a rigid singlespeed ๐Ÿ™„

I'm weighing up the benefits of just paying for a new set of forks myself (rigid canti CX forks, seem like hen's teeth!) or sending away to Wiggle and hoping they replace the forks with a similar set, in a reasonable timescale...

What I really DON'T want is for them to replace the whole bike with something different, I'm quite attached to the colour and features etc.

Has anyone done something similar recently?

Ta

Yes - Jan to March this year.

My Bianchi just about in warranty snapped for no apparent reason. Wiggle did what they could, Bianchi did little in nearly 3 months, Wiggle offered and provided a replacement equal value Eastway Emitter in leiu of the Bianchi.

Good comms from Wiggle and very fair of them to replace a 4.5yo bike.

Yes, and they had stock of my bike so a straight replacement.
Easy to deal with, all at their expense from the outset, just a lag of a few days to organise return and then delivery

Thanks guys, sounds like Wiggle good to deal with, but I'll need to consider if I'm willing to risk losing the exact bike I have right now for an equivalent replacement.

Have emailed them to see what their possible solution will be if they do consider it a warranty, hopefully they'll be able to tell me what a possible replacement might be...

Not a bike, but I returned a favourite jacket to Leisure Lakes once because some stitching had come away. The buggers just refunded it and then I discovered you couldn't buy it any more. I tried everything I could to get the sodding thing back but in the end, had to give up and buy a different jacket.

In short, if you do return it, be prepared to not get it back and have to get a different replacement.

What are the chances of just returning the fork for exchange, if you like the bike?

I don't think they've accepted that the fork is definitely at fault, which is fair enough, they've only got my word for that and I can't even be 100% sure.

I spoke with Charge direct to see if I could just buy a replacement fork and bypass the warranty thing, but they don't actually hold stock any more, it's their distributor, which is why I need to go through Wiggle.

No worries, it's the risk you take buying online, will wait and see if they email me back so I know what I *might* get, if they decide it's a warranty.

Glad I've got a baby on the way, won't miss the bike for a few weeks! 8)
