I just picked up a dirt cheap Charge Blender to have a play on the local BMX tracks (Yeadon mainly).
I'm certainly not intending to get big air and nail some tricks (and these places are often just populated by kids trying to do exactly that), rather I'm going just to get comfortable in the air and sprint around and have some fun (far more fun than winter training on the roads and probably just as effective once a week).
Wondering if anyone else on here ever ventures to these places for similar reasons?
Used to practice my jumping at Yeadon and the Bradford bmx bandits track. Its a great way to learn how to clear table tops and helped me a lot out on trails and centres. Obviously also good for safe pumping and berm practice.
Still mess about at Thackley jump track as its on one of my local loops.
After getting back on a bmx recently, it's made me realise how soft my riding has become.
Nothing better I think for some repetitive training (skills and sprinting)
Good good, well, my next question would be if anyone fancied an occasional meet-up at Yeadon through the winter months... Drop me an email if so
