Walked the dogs up there this morning & to my dismay I found that most the jumps had been destroyed & branches were put accross the trails! I suppose that that this was a mindless act of vandalism but just wonduring if something more sinister has happened?
Unsanctioned digging on public property, I think many would argue who was the vandal
Two wrongs don't make a right.?
Where do you mean by Todmorden Forest?
ah yes sutty i know where you mean ( only selected people new where these trails were (Top Secret).... me n my son rode the red route through there a few times and my son rode one of those big jumps (yikes).... errm yes a few weeks back there had been complaints about the safety aspect of it all...or something very similar...i think walkers had complained...
so everything had to be pulled down. but watch this space it could appear agin in the future with new regulations i guess...lol
That is a real shame ๐ฅ but also very maddening ๐ฟ that there are such killjoys about. I'm surprised walkers have compained cos, not really a walking type of place.
Which bits have been destroyed the freeride bit or the downhill runs?
The trails were dismantled by the local riders who are now working with the land owner to create an official venue.
They have asked that everyone is patient and avoids using the trails for the forseeable future.
ok, sounds interesting. Thanks for info.
Are these the trails in the plantation above the village with the name of a certain Hampshire town?
is this some sort of code? It is not like we are all going to invade the area to ride some secret ,now defunct, trail?
Hardly secret. Details have been knocking around on here for months. Good news if the locals are working with the landowner to do something positive...
OK so we've confirmed where we're talking about.
Yes the local trail builders got caught, however they have taken a very responsible approach and are talking to the landowner who has been very positive about formalising things. They are also looking at planning consent and taking advice from those with experience of this sort of thing.
As evel kneivel said above the trail builders themselves took the jumps down as a sign of good faith, let's put the pitch forks down and step away from the lynch mob ๐
Give the guys a chance, there's some serious work being put into legitimising the trails there, let's keep out of the woods while things are sorted out.
mojo, both freeride & downhills runs have been destroyed &
Cheers Guys for the responce !
