just setting up my gears and noticed my front mech clamp had a crack in it, i slightly torqued it up and then shazam mech clamp snapped - piece of crap!!!
grrrr
anyways, i have a 9 speed front mech lying around that i can use if it will work with all my 10 speed stuff? is there any reason why it wont work? ie ratio's etc?? and will it cock the gears up?
help please as i need to get this sorted tonight if possible 🙂
Don't think it will. Only one way to find out, just wear eye protection for when it all bursts into flames.
Yes, it works fine. My wife's bike has a 9spd front mech on a 10spd everything else for over 18 months now.
Give it a go. It may work. I know it works the other way, as in 10 x 2 front works fine for me with 9spd rear. you just need to set the limits.
