Looks like it's going up the hill towards the moors?? Not ridden it myself, probably a footpath I reckon as I think I've done all the bridle ways.

It a local trail that goes from the shooting lodge to Wessenden ,and you can add the How big are your ball descent and follow it back across Buckstones for the Pack horse run, that is a fun downhill

As Steve says if you look on an ordnance survey map for shooters nab (dear hill reservoir) that's the start of it and it meets wessenden, basically I live 200yrds from it, if you want more info or a blast drop me a mail

Known locally as the Goat Track. It very nearly claimed one of the forum's Big Hitters, when Cynic-Al high-sided himself down the steepest gully just round the corner in the original pic. He was a lucky boy to walk away unharmed from that tumble.

Is it just running parallel to the Pennine Way bridleway which runs below next to the reservoirs ? There's a path up that way known as the 'Catchwater' or something like that.

Stevedoc - presumably you need to get onto Standedge Edge before you get to Buckstones ? Not sure which descent you're referring to, but curious to know ๐Ÿ™‚

I've fallen down that gully, I was by myself, clipped a pedal on the uphill side and next thing i know i was 10ft down the hill ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Right we need to get an evening or weekend (Im free Sunday) ride pencilled in. A sane start though as I'll be driving family over

Unfortunately Wed is the only night this week I can do now. I'm going to ride anyway if anyone wants to join me, I'll be at the pub at 7.45.

It would be good to get out again though JRM, perhaps next week?

Bookmarked as I'm always up for a razz around Marsden and a pint in the Riverhead (except this week as I'm out Wednesday and down Magic Rock on Thursday).

I'm away on Thursday so still planning to ride Wednesday. I think Mintimperial is planning to join me, if anyone else is in please let me know so we wait. 7.45 at Riverhead.

Shame I'm away for the Thursday thing, that looks good.

Right, mintimperial has bailed, and it appears everyone else is either unavailable or planning to go to the event on Thursday instead so I'm going to sack it off tonight.

If anyone was planning to come, let me know; I might be persuaded to change my mind...

Full packhorse has lost some of its charm, but at least it's not really affected by wet weather too much now. The bottom section is still good.

Not done the full packhorse in a couple of months but the flagged bits are really annoying, especially on a hardtail
The stone they've used will get sketchy/slimey son if it hasn't done so already

Mondays also good. I've not ridden all weekend. I went to London so took my roadbike to at least get a ride for a Sun am ride and...forgot my shoes.

So I want to overkill MTB now
