He goes by the name of "Imperialwill"?

He's buying some forks off me but something doesn't quite feel right. At the same time as I got the Paypal payment notification, another one came through, mostly in what looks like Chinese. The weird thing is I received the exact same email a few days ago, showing the same amount, even though nothing appeared in my Paypal account.

The delivery address is also a self storage facility.

I'm sure everything is fine, and I'm just being paranoid, but I thought I'd check.

So a dodgy email notification and a dodgy delivery address?
Why would you even take the risk

That's my fear, hence the further investigation.

I've refunded the money: It was just too dodgy.

Not only what I've said above, but also his PB profile says he is in Oregon, whereas the postal address is Hertfordshire.

If he's serious, he can get in touch again.

His profile implies he's in China, but wants goods shipped to Oregon. I'd be very careful with this one 😕

edit; ps........I think you've done the right thing!

Tell him you have fully refunded his cash, bundle up what you know about the situation into a mail with a direct question,,,, something like:
Given all the details, the different locations and posting to a self storage facility, how does this all fit together so I can confidently complete the sale ?

That's pretty much what I have done, although not in those exact words.

I think this is a scam as well, but the storage unit is not a sign in itself. I have a unit and regularly get parcels delivered there.

I agree iridebikes; I even have a friend who manages a Self storage facility. However, all the evidence together is fairly conclusive.

In fairness, I use an Aramex courier address to have things forwarded from the UK to where I am.

I have no problems on ebay because of 500+ positive ratings, but I could see why a private seller might baulk because it can look a bit weird.
