I was reccomended 'Sheffield Powder Coaters' never got round ot it though.
I've used 'Sheffield Powder Coaters' before with good results. £15 to do the front triangle of a Yeti full sus. They are next to the incinerator next to the Parkway
Andy - what frame did you get done, what was the finish like and how much prep / finishing did you have to do yourself before you put it together?
Tracey - good photos, as above, what was the finish like and how much faff was it to finish the frame ready for use after the spray?
Also, (stupid question) can they spray over anoidising or will it need to be shot blasted beforehand?
questions, questions, questions!
Frame was stripped down and built back up at bike shop, although after a maintenance course I went on at the biginning of the month I could do it my self, frame was prepped at powdercoaters and everything that needed covering was covered, the finish is first class.

How much £ was it in the end? (powder coat element only)
used sheffield powder coaters as well,
finish is mediocer, theres a few runs but nothing worth winging about for £20. Not much you can do to remove powder coat anyway.
i striped my own paint, dont get aloy frames shot blasted unless they know what they'r doing, normal shot blasting removes the metal prety rapidly as well, seen a few frames on ebay with comments like, spares or repairs? random holes apeard when it came back from powdercoating!
anodising should be fine if you leave it as its part of the metal. Just rough it up with sandpaper.
They dont mask though so budget for having the frame faced etc, or do what i did and leave some sacrifical parts in (empty HTII BB cups, headset cups, seatpost etc) then cut the powder coat with a knife and remove them.
I had satin black finish on a yeti AS-X
I stripped it myself and then degreased the frame with meths
Finish was pretty good, with only a tiny area that bubbled and no runs. The bubbles were next to a mounting hole and I may not have degreased it well enough.
You need to make sure you get ALL the old paint off before taking it to them.
Only thing they didn't do was blank off the BB shell, so I had to get the threads reamed out afterwards
Only thing I am worried about is stripping the anodising off as the frame (5 spot) is fiddly in places.
Any suggestions people?
