[Closed] Anyone got a solution?
my front hub needs servicing and its a 20mm XTR. It has a cup and cone arrangeemnt with what looks on the shimano website, large cone spanners to remove the axle. i think they're 28mm?
but the problem is the shimano spanners are £70! any solution? does anyone know a shimano service centre near preston that might have the parts?
Piece of flat narrow bar (fiver from an engineering firm locally), angle grinder (£15 from cheap-tools place) and make your own. Or, take it to your LBS. Or get the eng firm to make your tools, probably for less.
file a chunk out of a cone spanner to fit.
Where the hell did you get £70 from? They're £11.73 and any dealer with a madison account will be able to get you one.
