it's growing on me. I [s]need[/s] want a skillz compensator. The comp actually looks really cool in the flesh.

what do we think?

There's definitely someone on here with a black 2010 Enduro. Can't remember who though.

I've got a 2010 Stumpjumper FSR (the silver one that MBR are currently slating) and I love it.

my mate has recently moved from a demo 8 to an enduro and is enjoying it muchly. he's built it up as a mini dh bike cos we mainly ride mini dh.
the shock went to tftuned to be pushed, that was a great improvement. it now sits higher in the travel to leave more for bigger hits but is just as supple.
one thing that has been noticed is how the rear brake affects the suspension. when trail braking on steep/rough entries to corners, the rear wheel will tend to skip and lock up instead of tracking the bumps and scrubbing off speed.

The skipping/locking up sounds a bit odd for a 4-bar bike? They're supposed to be active by design

It couldn't be that the brake is on a bit much on more XC tyres with an more XC higher, steeper angled seattube and longer toptube and stem and its just locking up more on those steeper descents where weight is further forward?

I like the look of the comp in the flesh. It looks like shiny carbon. I'd really like one, but I can't see it being that good at climbing what with a 66.5deg head angle, fixed 160mm travel forks and a boost valve less, pushless shock on a 160mm 4-bar

I have the brained FSR Expert 29er (drifting OT slightly perhaps here), but I love it. The suspension is outstanding, easy to set-up and amazes how active it remains, especially on braking. Geo is spot on and forward thinking for 29er FS bikes

The complete bikes are good value, or there's frame only

Demoed a 2010 enduro comp recently and it was awesome. So much more confidence inspiring than my heckler and the 2010 Stumpjumper I tried. I'm saving my pennies.

dual ply tyres and 50mm stem on a small frame. i don't think they stay as active as specialized would have us believe.

There's Four Bar and Four Bar... The old Enduros used to squat under power, but I think they've tweaked the main pivot location on the newer bikes - remember that Lapierre uses an outwardly identical Horst Link placement, but the main pivot location allows for some chain growth to tighten the rear end under pedalling.

Plus of course, the shock has had the compression retuned so that it doesn't sit in it's travel so much.

I've got one.2010 comp Enduro ( black one as mentioned above )

Its a real Joy to ride,I'm blown away every time I get on it.

Really is the sweetest looking bike.I've been playing with the damping and rebound a bit, and the difference is fantastic.

Size M comes it about 14.8kg.I'm 5ft 8 ( stood REALLY straight) and the size is fine.I love the balance on it, especially when your going down steep ground and hanging off the back.

Test one if you can !!

they look a bit better with white forks imo, and aside from slight brake jack on a couple of corners at a local track it does ride excellently!
