I'm trying with stans kit, but tyres seem very loose. Anyone managed?

never tried tubeless but if the tyres floppy you may want to look at a "Blast" inflating bodge. was one in here recently will go find it.

EDIT: here http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/ghetto-tubeless-inflator-total-cost-9p

yeh, me
xc 290 rim, stans tape and a tubeless ready bontrager - doddle
I honestly think non-UST (or non-tlr) tyres are just a pain to use tubeless - I think the extra material around the bead on UST makes a much better job of sealing and retaining the bead on the wheel

You inspired me to try again and got it to work - extra wrap of insulation and rim tape. Ta.
