Road bars are usually measured centre-to-centre at the drops, right?

Current bars (cast iron) are 42cm and I'm looking for a set of carbon ones. CRC have a couple of tasty deals in their sale BUT only available in 40 or 44cm.

How much will I notice a difference of +/- 2cm?

Nowadays most bars are ctoc but not all!

FWIW, I have a 38" chest but like wide bars (44cm ctoc) as it opens the chest up and helps when climbing out the saddle. Personally, I find narrow bars a hinderance when climbing.

Size does make a difference!

Measure your shoulder width not the width of the chest and gowith this dimension as your bar width.

Simples.

If you're an mtb.er I'd go wide.

Wot Al says. The more I ride my MTBs, the more I wish I had wider road bars.
