There is one this sunday (11th) starting from north London which we are thinking about riding.

Tempted to as the start isn't far away from me at all. Rideable on a road bike or I should put some thin semi-slicks on a MTB?

Curiosity has got the better of me and google isn't helping - what is "HOTN"? Highgate is local to me hence my interest.

The organisers have been riding it on road bikes. I'm doing it on a crosser with road tyres. However it has been drying out fast and the forecast is reasonable so a last minute change to road bike might happen.

HOTN Hell Of The North. There's a 100K road/rough ride leaving Highgate and finishing at High Barnet.

what is "HOTN"?

I think it's a Rapha sponsored run inspired by Paris Roubaix.

Looks quite fun, and if it wasn't on the same day as honc I'd probably give it a whirl.

Oh that's confusing, I assumed this was HONC!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Looks great but 100k is about twice as far as I've ever ridden in one day and the only bike at my disposal is a 140mm full squidger - I think I'd either end up dead, or if not, then dead last!

I think we should be in for it, with cross bikes as set up for RvV last weekend. 24mm Pave should work on "gravé" I think.

£9.99 Blizzards on mine.
Be nice to meet you again, and that area was my old roadie stomping ground.
