Recently a mates thinking of getting a 29er and after riding another friends bike we both agree 29ers are at times like riding a FS on most trails bar jumping...

I told him to look into canyon but i dont know anyone whos got a 29er from them, anyone got one or know someone who has, as it seems there are 0 reviews out there for their 29ers....

100mm of fork seems low for UK as you useally have 120 but sinse its 29er 100mm should be ok

interested to hear thoughts.

29ers are new in the Canyon range for 2012. I don't think that anyone has got their hands on one yet.

Rare as rocking horse poo it would seems. I fancy either the Canyon 29er or Cube 29er as both of them have equally balanced pros and cons. I came across a few reviews after eurobike and I'm sure it was on twentynineinches.com or somewhere. Got rave reviews but as most people on here have said it's the sizie that you need to be careful of hence why I'm waiting for my lcoal shop to get cube in so I can gauge my size on tehre and relate that to the Canyon.

No, MBR has 120mm bikes, the real world still rides arround on 100mm forked, 26" wheeled, hardtails as far as I can tell. Doesn't make them the best, but they are the most popular.

The Canyon isn't shipped until March.
I hope there not all sold out by them as I don't really want to preorder this far out just in case. I think I going to go for the bottom model, mainly so I can avoid Sram, although I can't find any reviews of the DT Swiss forks so that would be a punt.

The Canyon looks nice and great spec but for their sizing, they seem pretty short in the effective top tube length to me.

aye the top tube is short but i think thats due to them wanting a more agressive bike rather than a typical race styled one like many 29ers are.

Be interested to see if anyone gets one as it looks a sweet bike.

My mate has bought one and is taking delivery of it on Thursday... for a planned ride on Saturday. I'm not sure that would have bought one costing that much based on reviews alone, but I will leave you the low down after he had got it home.

specialized carve?

i had a go on one, and can confirm that they're ace.

in a 'not a nervous xc race bike, just a bloody good mountain bike' sort of way.

The Canyon site has said delivery wk10 2012 since the 29er went up so I'm interested to know how cyclebikers mate has got hold of one.
Edit: I see that you are in Bristol cyclebikers, is your mate too? Do you reckon he would let me try it out?

I was gonna pre-order - but my (bad german) assessment of the review was the terralogic fork on the top one was a bit too slick for its own good.
anyway wait one year and you'll be able to get the carbon version their team are racing with this season (on xx forks) ๐Ÿ™‚

Shit my bad guys. It's a specalised carve 29er...not a Canyon, I will now hang my head in shame and leave the forum. Sorry if I got a any hopes up.
