May be taking my first track ride in a few weeks, would most likely be hiring a bike which apparently use Look Delta compatible pedals but also come with adaptors for toe straps.
So, what shoes work well with the adaptors, or should I just bung some Delta cleats on my road shoes?
Yep Delta cleats on road shoes is the way to go.
Been a couple of times and it's just fantastic fun, really enjoyable.
Done it a few times it's much better with cleats than clips and straps. I also felt safer clipped in than with cleat-less shoes in toeclips.
Stick some cleats on. Ridden Newport a few times - it's superb, you'll love it!
Cheers guys, I thought I'd be happier with cleats and looking around they're only about a tenner.
Looking forward to it!
I'm off there on the 25th. It's my first time on the track and I can't wait!
I went a few years ago and it's great. You won't beleive how steep the sides of the bends are! Just don't try freewheeling.
Can you tell me how you oorganised/booked it? My mate did it for me and I've not been able to find anything about open novice sessions on the web. Really fancy going again.
Pedlad, it's though a mate of a mate who's there as a favour to someone else!
Don't really know a lot more than that, other than the guy who's running the session has suggested he can bring a couple of friends with him. That's where I come in.
Anyway, never ridden the track before, went to one of the Revolutions a couple of months ago, those banks are indeed very steep!
