Scape Goat hill is a very close to where I live. It is steep no doubt about it but I would say its one of the worst as its not that long.....
The hairpin as described on the website is pretty steep, but again only short.(be careful of cars, its really narrow and 2 cars can only just pass in parts)

Id be more bothered about the long Isle of Skye road and the Nont Sarah's, wind isnt an option on these roads its always there and always in your face.

Some beautiful scenery though, in fact stunning.

Hope thats of some help.

Well, it climbs about 200m in 2km, so it averages about 10%.

i.e. steep, although not horrific and pretty short.

Scape goat is hard because ; you have done quite a bit of riding already, it is narrow and a bit windy , road suface is not the best, it steep enough and isnt particularly constant so personnally I find it is hard to get into a rhythm. On the. Plus side its not too long. but long enough.isle of skye I find okay but wind can make it a lot harder.I haventdone the sportive but regularly ride all those roads.

You will be fine . I would say dont go too hard in the first half of the ride( probably good advice for any sportive) and i am sure you will see a few walkers up scape goat.

Run by an old team mate of mine, it's got some cracking climbs in, I'd not be too bothered by Scapegoat Hill, more so by the combination of Buckstones road, Isle of Skye road, the climb out of Wessenden/Marsden etc., etc. It's very dependent on the weather; I did the first year and it was absolutely wicked, all the climbs from east to west had a 20 mph headwind. Tis run on my training roads; I've sweated and cried a lot on all the route...

Crikey - I did it that year too. Man that was pretty awful. Wheelspin on the cattle grids!

Found this on Youtube, video clip from the first event in 2009. I guess it's why the organisers brought the event forward a few weeks to get better weather.
