[Closed] Any repair tips for a bent X7 rear mech?

3 weeks after fitting a new X7 rear mech, I managed to hit a rock and bend it out of shape. I didn't notice it at first, it looked undamaged but the ghost shifting and chain-jumping soon indicated a problem. I swapped the mech hanger for a new one without success and then realised that the jockey wheel cage is not parallel to the chain anymore, so the chain doesn't run straight between rings. The mech body looks fine and is bolted up the hanger properly, the misalignment seems to be where the cage connects to the body.

Before I bin it, has anyone got any repair tips? I've tried some gentle persuasion to bend it back in line without luck.

less than gentle persuassion to bend it - heat it first if you want but nothing to loose - will be cage not the spindle so it will either bend back or snap.

Seriously take the mech apart outer from inner and straighten each bit in a vice - fully tighten vice over cage to make it flat avoiding obvious 90 degree bits which guide chain - then tighten vice around the bit/s that wont go straight and bend gently there. rebuild and test
