i dont think so just wondered because ive just fitted slx brakes to my fox forks post mount and its a 180mm rotor so i tried a post to post shimano one and it put the caliper at a silly angle with the hose going off to the rear ish so i tried my different profiled formula post to post 180 and it fits much better and at better angle

just wasnt sure why shimano do it like that and if i shouldnt use the formula one

cheers

Did you definitely fit them both the right way? Post to post ones are essentially a spacer so not sure why it would matter?

its a lesser angle on the formula as it is thicker at the bottom than the shimano one so puts it in a different place on the rotor but its still central on the brake area. just a bit further round. and the hose sits much better

I had a Hope one on my Avid brakes and it meant that not all of the pad would contact with the disc - worked ok for a bit but once the pads wore down a bit they pretty much stopped working.

As long as you get a decent amount of pad contact I can't see the problem.

it appears to be in contact as good as the shimano one so i'll leave it as it sits better
